China's first new standard dedicated berth for liquefied hydrocarbon opens

On July 15, 2020, China Communications Construction issued an announcement that the liquid chemical terminal at No. 333, West Operation Zone, Rongxing Port District, Panjin Port, Liaoning, designed by the Institute of Water Planning and constructed by the China National Aeronautics and Transportation Administration, welcomed 46,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas. The foreign ship "Dingxiang Corridor" berthed smoothly. This is also the first domestic berth for liquefied hydrocarbons built in accordance with the latest standards after the new regulations of the Ministry of Transport's "Code for Fire Protection Design of Oil and Gas Chemical Terminals" were promulgated.

The construction of No. 333 liquid chemical berth started in November 2018 and passed the acceptance inspection in June 2020. The construction content mainly includes a high-piled wharf with a total length of 276 meters and related supporting facilities. The terminal is planned to be a 50,000-ton level liquefied hydrocarbon berth with a designed annual throughput of 1.82 million tons and a designed annual throughput of 1.92 million tons. The main cargo types are propane, butane, ethylene and butadiene.

No. 333 liquid chemical berth is an important supporting facility for the Bora Basel petrochemical project in Panjin, Liaoning. The petrochemical project is a key project of the State Council to promote the three-year rolling plan for the revitalization of the northeast old industrial base, with a planned total investment of 12 billion US dollars. The construction of the project fills the gap of the chemical terminal in the Liaodong Bay New Area and further promotes the construction of Panjin into a world-class petrochemical base.

At present, Yantai Company is fully constructing the No. 334 liquid chemical berth project, which is another important supporting terminal for the follow-up operation and investment of the Bora Basel petrochemical project. After completion, it will further promote Panjin's strategy of building a world-class petrochemical and fine chemical industry base.
