BYD delivered the country's first pure electric bus fleet to Barbados, the eastern Caribbean island country, with a total of 33 10-meter pure electric buses. This is one of the largest pure electric bus fleets in the Americas.
According to the Barbados Transportation Commission, the country plans to achieve 100% renewable energy development by 2030, as well as the environmental protection goal of "carbon neutrality". BYD's pure electric bus fleet will effectively help achieve this goal.
The Transportation Commission stated, "I am very pleased to cooperate with BYD and its charging supplier Megapower to launch my country's first pure electric bus fleet, which will greatly improve the quality of travel for islanders."

It is reported that these buses are specially tailored for the Barbados market and are equipped with wheelchair barrier-free facilities, WIFI and USB charger connectors.

Throughout the Latin American region, BYD's new energy product footprint has covered major countries including Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil, Costa Rica, Uruguay, and Argentina. It is winning market praise for its remarkable environmental benefits and reliable quality, and continues to promote Latin American electric Process. Editor/Sang Xiaomei
