On August 25, Xiongan High-speed Railway Co., Ltd. issued the "First Information Announcement on Environmental Impact Assessment of the New Xiongan New Area to Xinzhou High-speed Railway." It is reported that the Xiongxin High-speed Railway has entered the stage of preparing relevant prerequisites for the feasibility study approval, and strives to start construction within 2020.

The newly-built Xiongan New Area to Xinzhou High-speed Railway starts from Xiong’an Station in Xiongan New Area, and the newly built line goes west through Xiong’an New Area, Baoding City, Wangdu County, Tang County, Quyang County, Fuping County, Wutai Mountain Scenic Area, Wutai County, Dingxiang County and Xinzhou City have introduced Xinzhou West Railway Station of Daxi Railway Station. The length of the newly-built line is 342.535km, including 227.806km in Hebei Province and 114.719km in Shanxi Province. There are 9 new stations on the whole line, namely: Xiong'an Intercity Station, Baoding East Station, Baoding South Station, Wangdu North Station, Quyang Station, Fuping Station, Wutaishan Station, Wutai County Station, Dingxiang North Station, reserved Xiaoli Station. A new parking lot was built at Baoding South Railway Station, and a parking line was built at Taiyuan South EMU. The speed target value is 350 km/h, and the Xiong’an section is designed at 250 km/h.

The Xiongxin high-speed rail is a component of the Beijing-Kunming channel in the "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network, serving the road network passenger exchanges between the northwest and southwest regions and the north and northeast regions, as well as the rapid passengers of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration and the Jinzhong urban agglomeration communicate with. After the project is completed and put into use, it will become a new channel for Taiyuan and even Shanxi to communicate with the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, driving the economic and efficient development of the areas along the route.
