On September 8, China State Construction and the National Highway Administration of Uganda signed a general contract for the design and construction of the Najiannan Kubi-Bushabara Road Upgrade Project with a contract value of approximately US$70.2 million. The construction content of the project mainly includes the design and construction of an 11-kilometer asphalt road, 17-kilometer gravel auxiliary road, 4 overpasses, 2 pedestrian bridges and related ancillary facilities from Najiannan Kubi to Bushabara Town.
China State Construction has participated in the bidding for this project since August 9, 2019, giving full play to its own technical advantages, actively organizing domestic, local and international design resources, and winning the owner's affirmation with its excellent design solutions and reasonable prices. This project is the second EPC general contracting project obtained by China State Construction Kenya Corporation and the third road project signed with the Uganda Highway Bureau.
This successful signing has further deepened the mutual trust and cooperation between the two parties, enhanced China State Construction’s market competitiveness and influence in the field of road engineering in Uganda, and marked the realization of China State Construction Kenya Co., Ltd. on the basis of two African Development Bank road projects in eastern Uganda. The full development of Uganda's country market fully demonstrates the high recognition of China's construction performance capabilities and brand value by the Kenyan government, Uganda government, the World Bank, and non-issuers.
