The project is a large-scale modern comprehensive steel enterprise led by Hebei Xinwu'an Iron and Steel Group and MCC plans to jointly fund the construction. The project site is located in Samararu Industrial Park, Sarawak, Malaysia, covering an area of 8 square kilometers. As the EPC general contractor of this project, China Metallurgical Group plans to adopt overall planning and phased implementation, and finally achieve a steel production scale of 10 million tons. The first phase of the project has a total investment of 13 billion ringgit, and will start a 5 million tons long process production line, the main products are hot coils and sheets.

Sarawak is an important state of Malaysia, an important part of the Eastern ASEAN Growth Area, and an important node on the Maritime Silk Road.
