Recently, the Fujian Provincial Development and Reform Commission approved the "Feasibility Study Report on the Ningde Xiapu to Fuan Section of the National High-tech Network of Ningde-Shangrao Expressway."

The project starts in Chibi Cha Village, Xiahu Town, Dongchong Peninsula, Xiapu County, Ningde City, and passes through Xinan Town and Yantian She Nationality Township after crossing the Dongwu Ocean, and ends at Xiapi Village, Xiwei Town, Fu’an City and Shenhai National Highway. The Wanwu hub interchange is connected to the Wanwu-Fuan section of the Ningde-Shangrao National Expressway that has been built. The total length of the route is about 39.8 kilometers, of which the newly built section is about 33.9 kilometers. The newly built Dongwuyang sea-crossing bridge is about 2.2 kilometers. The project adopts two-way four-lane expressway standard construction, with a design speed of 100 km/h, and a total investment of approximately 6.51 billion yuan.

The Ningde Xiapu-Fuan section project is a component of the Ningde-Shangrao Expressway of the National Expressway Network, and an important part of the first horizontal section of the "Fujian Expressway Network Plan (2016-2030)". After the completion of the project, it will improve the national and regional expressway network, improve the operation capacity and service level of the national highway, and promote the efficient development of economy and society.
