It is understood that the total construction period of the new Hefei West Station is 4 years. It is planned to start construction in December 2020. The west station building will be opened by the end of 2022. It will be completed and put into use in November 2024, with a total investment of 9.64 billion yuan.

• The main building of the new Hefei West Station has 3 floors, the station building area is 80,000 square meters, and the station scale is 8 stations and 18 lines (including 4 main lines), of which Hexinchang has 3 stations and 5 stations, and He'an station has 3 stations. Line 9 and Line 4 of Hefuchang 2 are second only to Hefei South Railway Station in scale.

• The site of the new Hefei West Railway Station is located in the enclosed area of Qianshan Road, Qingxi Road, Fanwa Road and Huaining Road in Shushan District. According to reports, the comprehensive development and underground space development of the new Hefei West Railway Station is 180,000 square meters. It is divided into three underground floors and three aboveground floors from bottom to top, with a mezzanine in some areas. It is a comprehensive transportation hub that integrates railway and rail transportation.

The new Hefei West Railway Station is an important part of the Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed railway, the main channel of the national eight vertical and eight horizontal high-speed railways. After completion, the new Hefei West Railway Station, as one of the three main passenger stations of the Hefei Railway Hub, will be the starting station of He'an and Hexin high-speed railways, and the intermediate stations of Hebang, Hefu, and Shanghe-Hangzhou high-speed railways.
