Construction of the Yuwan High-speed Railway started on November 10, 2020. The Yuwan High-speed Railway project has a total length of 252 kilometers. It is drawn from Chongqing East Railway Station, passes through Fuling, Fengdu, and Zhongxian to the east, and then introduces Wanzhou North Railway Station. Chongqing East, Fuling North and Fengdu will be established. The five stations in Bei, Zhongxian and Wanzhou North have a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, with an estimated total investment of 52.76 billion yuan and a total construction period of 4.5 years.
This is the sixth high-speed railway owned by Chongqing after the Chengdu-Chongqing High-speed Railway and the Yuwan Intercity Railway that have been opened to traffic, as well as the Zhengwan High-speed Railway under construction, the Chongqing Station to the Qianjiang Section of the Chongqing-Chongqing High-speed Railway, and the Chongqing-Kunming High Speed Railway. Together with the Chongqing West High-speed Railway and the Zhengwan High-speed Railway, the Beijing-Xi’an-Kaizhou-Wanzhou-Chongqing-Kunming, Beijing-Zhengzhou-Wanzhou-Chongqing-Kunming high-standard Beijing-Kunming corridor will be built with 350 km/h. To Zhengwan high-speed rail link, Yichang-Wuhan, Wuhan-Hefei, Hefei-Shanghai and other high-speed rails to build a high-standard riverside passage with a full speed of 350 kilometers per hour, to achieve "6 hours" linking Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration and Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, 3 hours Connecting the Guanzhong and Central Plains urban agglomerations will promote the joint development of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the Yangtze River Economic Belt.

In November 2018, the Chongqing-Xiangsu High-speed Railway from Chongqing Station to Qianjiang Section and Chongqing East Railway Station started construction, kicking off the prelude to the acceleration of the Chongqing High-speed Railway.
At the beginning of 2018, the Chongqing-Guizhou Railway, the Chengdu-Chongqing high-speed rail hub section, the first phase of Chongqing West Railway Station and Shapingba Station were completed and put into use.
In September 2019, the Chongqing section of the Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway started.
At the end of 2019, the Qian-Chang Railway, an important part of my country's eight-vertical-eight-horizon high-speed railway network from Chongqing through Changsha to Xiamen, was opened to traffic. In August 2020, the Fuling-Zhongzui section of the second line of the Yuhuai Railway will be opened for operation, and the entire line will be opened to traffic by the end of the year.

In June 2020, the Yuzui Railway Freight Station on the Fuxiu Line 2 Railway with an annual loading and unloading capacity of 600,000 vehicles was put into operation and fully integrated into the national railway transportation network. As a result, the proportion of railway transportation in Chongqing will increase by 30% to 40%, which greatly meets the demand for railway transportation of commercial vehicles by car companies such as Chang'an, Shanghai GM Wuling and Beijing Hyundai in Yufu Area of Liangjiang New Area. This also means that more "Made in Chongqing" commodity vehicles can be distributed across the country by train, and transportation costs will also be greatly reduced.
In 2021, the Chongqing section of the Zhengwan high-speed railway is expected to be completed and opened to traffic
On June 29, 2020, at the North Goods Yard of Chongqing Guoyuan Port Yuzui Railway Freight Station, the first train with 46 containers drove out slowly. The auto parts, glass fiber and mechanical and electrical products in the containers will be transported to Hangzhou, Wuxi and other Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions.
Yuzui Railway Freight Station is a national secondary railway logistics base, adjacent to many key projects such as Sino-Singapore (Chongqing) Multimodal Transport Demonstration Base, Sino-Singapore Huilian Pucheng Logistics Base, and Minsheng Logistics. The realization of the container arrival and departure function of its North Freight Yard can provide convenient container freight services for the above projects and promote the development of multimodal transport logistics in the surrounding area.

Construction of the Chongqing Railway Logistics Hub is speeding up. In the future, Tuanjie Village will be built as the first-level logistics base, Xiaonanya and Yuzui will be the second-level logistics bases, and 12 stations including Baishiyi, Longsheng, and Nanpeng will be the third-level logistics bases. The 1+2+12 three-level logistics node network will be built into a national comprehensive railway logistics hub by 2030.
Through the construction of a railway logistics hub, the new land-sea corridor in the west and the China-Europe train (Chongqing-Xin-Europe) and other major international logistics channels will be unblocked, which will vigorously promote the construction of Chongqing inland international logistics hub and port heights
According to the national medium and long-term railway network plan, Chongqing is positioned as a national comprehensive railway hub. Among the “eight vertical and eight horizontal” high-speed rail corridors, the “three vertical and two horizontal” high-speed rail corridors such as Beijing-Kunming, Bao (Yin) Sea, Lan (Xi)-Guangzhou, Yanjiang, and Xia-Chong meet in Chongqing.
In the future, after the completion of the m-shaped high-speed railway network, a modern railway network system will be formed with Chongqing hub as the center, high-speed railway channels as the skeleton, and ordinary-speed railways as the support, connecting Europe and Asia, reaching the whole country, and unblocking the surrounding areas.
