The Yuxiang Double Line Expressway is an expansion line of the built Yuxiang Expressway. It is a traffic arterial road connecting Chongqing to Hunan. The route is 280 kilometers long and has 6 lanes in both directions. The Yuxiang double-line expressway is divided into Bapeng section, Pengyou section and Wudao (Chongqing section). The total length of the line is about 280.26 kilometers, passing through 5 districts and counties of Banan, Nanchuan, Pengshui, Youyang and Wulong.

The Yuxiang Expressway double-track line is long, with a bridge-to-tunnel ratio of 80%, many long tunnels, outstanding bad geology, and many high-piers and long-span bridges. There are many key control projects on the whole line. The Shuangbao Bridge in the Ba Peng section crosses the Dadong River and Xiaohegou Shuanggou Valley in Wulong District in turn, and the valley topography is W-shaped. In the design, the topography and geological characteristics were fully combined, and the 2x405m deck concrete-filled steel tube double arch was innovatively proposed. The bridge ranks first in the span of continuous arch bridges built in China.

There is also the Pengyou section of the Mozhai Wujiang River Bridge, with a total length of 708 meters. The main bridge is a 153+296+253-meter prestressed concrete partially cable-stayed bridge. The No. 3 main pier is 216 meters high and the No. 4 main pier is 185 meters high. The span and pier height are in the forefront of similar bridges in Asia.

The Yuxiang Expressway double line will be fully started in 2020, and the construction time will last 4 to 6 years.
