On November 30, 2020, the world’s first suspension bridge for high-speed railways and China’s first suspension bridge for highways and railways-Wufengshan Yangtze River Bridge, designed by China Railway Bridge Engineering Institute and constructed by China Railway Bridge Bureau, successfully completed the Lian (Yungang) Town (Jiang) High Speed Rail The commissioning test task began to prepare for opening to traffic before the end of the year. The Wufengshan Yangtze River Bridge on the Lianzhen Railway is the first road-rail suspension bridge in my country. It is also the world’s fastest-running, largest-loading, and largest-span road-rail suspension bridge. The Wufengshan Yangtze River Bridge is designed for both road and rail use, with a total length of 6.409 kilometers and a main bridge with a single span of 1092 meters. A 4-lane railway plus a two-way 8-lane expressway. The design speed of the railway is 250 kilometers per hour and the design speed of expressway is 100 kilometers per hour.
On this lightweight one-thousand-meter long-span suspension bridge, the railway department has repeatedly tested different combinations of different speeds, different models, and multiple lines in parallel. It has been running smoothly for nearly a hundred days, creating a world where high-speed trains pass smoothly at a speed of 275 kilometers per hour.
