In the ordinary world, there will always be a group of extraordinary people who will always win the applause of life by working hard and being a steadfast person. On November 24, 2020, the National Commendation Conference for Model Workers and Advanced Workers was held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Cui Bing of the Public Regulation Institute, Yan'an and Chen Zhaohai of the First Navigation Bureau, Ma Wenbing of the Second Navigation Bureau, Bi Zhongyan of the Tianjin Aviation Bureau, Feng Yinghui of the Fourth Aviation Academy, and Xia Feng of China Communications Haitou were awarded the "National Model Worker". Honorary title and accept recognition. In order to further promote the spirit of model workers and form a good fashion within the group of respecting model workers, caring for model workers, learning from model workers, and striving to be model workers, we have specially launched a national model worker deeds topic to continuously stimulate the enthusiasm for labor creation of CCCC employees and promote high-quality development .

When I first saw Chen Zhaohai, he was shy, not tall, fat, dark face, and calluses on his hands. Chen Zhaohai spends most of his time with measuring instruments. He is such an "insignificant" person. He has been on the road of surveying and mapping for 25 years, constantly refreshing industry survey records, and successively won the national technical expert, Liaoning Province model worker, and national transportation technology. Experts and other titles.

Chen Zhaohai graduated from Tianjin Navigation Technical School with a major in surveying. In 1995, he joined the First Navigation Bureau and the Third Company. He recalled: "At that time, I was sitting in the office at work every day. I couldn't sit still. I just wanted to go to the construction site to do survey work. That would be interesting." With this idea, Chen Zhaohai started his surveying and mapping life.

Chen Zhaohai always gets excited whenever he mentions his master when he first worked. At that time, because the total station measuring instrument was relatively expensive, Chen Zhaohai did not have the opportunity to get started. His main job was to lay hands on the master and make records. Every time Chen Zhaohai saw the operation interface in English, Chen Zhaohai would ask himself, "Can I do it?" In this excited and nervous mood, he carefully recorded every step of the master's operation, and secretly remembered it. Heart, always ready to have the opportunity to get started.

Opportunity awaits those who are prepared. One day, the on-site construction workers eagerly asked for a set of measurement data. By coincidence, Master was on vacation. Under the expectation and urging of everyone, Chen Zhaohai carried the total station and rushed to the scene. "That was the first time I completed the measurement independently. I was really nervous at the time. I was afraid of making mistakes. I repeated the measurement and calculation several times before sending the data." Chen Zhaohai said. After the master came back, not only did he not criticize Chen Zhaohai's performance, he also praised him again and again. Because at that time, only an apprentice was qualified to use the total station for three or four years, and it took a while to master the skills. However, Chen Zhaohai had already mastered the essentials just six months after he joined the work, and what he lacked was only practical experience. It is precisely because of this outstanding performance that Chen Zhaohai obtained the qualification to use the instrument alone. Chen Zhaohai smiled and said: "On the road of surveying, my confidence and persistence are all given by Master. This instrument lasts 25 years."

In the past 25 years, from China’s first 300,000-tonne ore terminal project, Dalian Port’s 300,000-tonne ore terminal project, to China’s first aircraft carrier shipyard, the new shipyard project of China Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Xianglujiao, from China’s longest shipyard to COSCO Dalian Shipbuilding Project No. 1 dock project, to China’s first double-layer ground-anchored suspension bridge-Dalian Xinghai Bay Cross-sea Bridge project, to the Dalian Bay Subsea Tunnel and Guangming Road extension project currently under construction, you can see behind these major projects The figure of Chen Zhaohai.

Throughout Chen Zhaohai's career, he has always remembered several sets of numbers, and each set of numbers represents the challenge he completed.

The first unforgettable number is 20.

In 2004, Chen Zhaohai led the surveying team to undertake the important task of the inspection of the foundation bed of the 300,000-ton ore terminal at Dalian Port. The inspection requires a high accuracy of 20 cm. "This seems to be a short distance, but there are great challenges hidden behind it." Chen Zhaohai recalled.

At that time, the water depth of the sea area was 30 meters and the flow rate was 1 meter per second. The sea conditions were very harsh. High-end instruments such as total stations could not be suitable for such deep and rapid offshore construction. They had to meet the accuracy of underwater rock dumping and the construction schedule requirements. It has become "impossible" in everyone's eyes.

Just when everyone was at a loss, Chen Zhaohai thought of the traditional method of "pick-up". In fact, it is to measure the height from the bottom point to the water surface when a piece of iron tuft is tied with a scaled rope. However, due to factors such as current, water depth, and body shape changes, the sounding reading must be measured when the mound touches the bottom of the sea. It is completed in 2 to 3 seconds, and the best reading time is less than 1 second, which is hard for ordinary people to reach.

Chen Zhaohai decided to meet the challenge. He would throw the "iron bumps" of more than 30 kilograms into the sea hundreds of times every day for several months. He spent almost all of his free time in practicing his eyesight and reaction speed. The fast reading method is practiced into conditioned reflex. With a 300-meter-long wharf and a one-year calibration period, Chen Zhaohai created the miracle of using manual measurement methods to control the high-precision standard of the caisson's underwater foundation bed at the centimeter level.

Another height figure that Chen Zhaohai can't forget is 120.

In 2013, Chen Zhaohai built the Dalian Xinghai Bay Bridge Project. In the construction of the main bridge, in order to ensure the balanced force of the "two towers and three spans" of the bridge, the suspension cable installation accuracy requirements are extremely high. Chen Zhaohai takes the lead to climb the top of the 120-meter-high pylon every time he organizes surveys and sets out. Since the construction area is more than 1 kilometer from the shore, even if the wind is calm and the waves are calm, the towering pylons are still swinging, catching the monsoon weather, standing on the top of the tower is even more trembling.

During the construction of the bridge more than 300 days and nights, whether it was the cold wind or the scorching sun, Chen Zhaohai was always the first to rush to the top of the tower. He worked for two or three hours and became the "spider on call" on the tower. Man". He also laid countless points and lines at an altitude of 100 meters to ensure that all suspension cable installations were completed at one time, and accumulated valuable experience for the construction of similar domestic projects.

Today, Chen Zhaohai is participating in the construction of the Dalian Bay Subsea Tunnel, the first immersed tube tunnel in China’s severe cold waters. The innovative studio named after him comprehensively applies underwater photography, remote transmission, three-dimensional imaging and other technologies to install and measure the offshore immersed tube. Carrying out "revolutionary" innovations will bring the immersed tube underwater installation technology to a new level, and promote China's measurement technology to move towards the world's top.
