The company held a memorandum of understanding signing ceremony here, aiming to jointly study the development of the Thai Canal and Southern Economic Corridor, and to promote the research results. The chairman, vice chairman and some members of the special committee attended the signing ceremony.

The 25th House of Commons of Thailand passed a resolution on January 16, 2020 to establish the Special Committee on the Development of Thailand’s Canal Excavation and the Southern Economic Corridor Region to study Thailand’s canal excavation and the development of the Southern Economic Corridor in accordance with the Regulations of the House of Commons 2019 There are three sub-committees under it. Longhao International Group Co., Ltd. has been involved in the research and promotion of the Thailand Canal project since 2015. Through repeated and in-depth communication and exchanges with the Special Committee and the three sub-committees, the signing of this MOU was facilitated.

It is reported that in 2015, Longhao International Group cooperated with Peking University, CCCC Fourth Shipping Engineering Survey and Design Institute Co., Ltd., Tianjin Water Transport Engineering Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport, Guangdong Fanzhu Survey and Design Co., Ltd., Tongji University and Beida Urban and Rural Planning The Design and Research Institute conducted a comprehensive on-site inspection of the Thailand Canal Project and formed a detailed pre-feasible research report based on the original research results of Thailand. The report proposed route 9A as the recommended route: Route 9A passes through Krabi, Trang, Phatthalung, Nakhon Si Thammarat and Songkhla in southern Thailand. It has a total length of about 135km, a navigable water depth of 26m, and a channel width of 400m. It can meet the two-way traffic of 300,000-ton full-load + ballast tankers. The estimated total investment of the project is estimated at 73 billion U.S. dollars, including 48 billion U.S. dollars for canal excavation and construction, and 25 billion U.S. dollars for filling artificial islands on the east and west sides.

Compared with the passage of the Malacca Strait, Sunda Strait or Lombok Strait, the excavation of the Thai Canal can save 2 to 7 days depending on the route, greatly reducing transportation time and transportation costs. It is expected to bring 2.5 million jobs to Thailand. During the construction of the Thai Canal, the economy can be stimulated through major projects, major projects and major investments, which can achieve an average annual economic growth of more than 12% in Thailand and double the total GDP in 6 years. The Thai Canal can enhance the overall strength and level of the Thai country, enhance Thailand's political and economic status in Southeast Asia, make Thailand a financial center, business center, shipping center, and trade center in Southeast Asia, and drive the sustainable development of the Thai national economy.

The Special Committee of the House of Commons of Thailand believes that under the background of the raging global epidemic, the Thai economy is sluggish, and the construction of the Thai canal is the best plan to break the situation. Editor/Sang Xiaomei
