On December 12, 2020, the first train of the electric passenger car project of the Zhejiang Jinhua-Yiwu-Dongyang Urban Rail Transit Project rolled off the assembly line of CRRC Changsha.

The first train vehicle of this project has established a 120km/h three-track current receiving B-type vehicle platform for the first time in China. According to the characteristics of the line, a large number of innovations have been made in the strength of the car body, the bogie, the air tightness, and the network control. The excellent performance and economy of subway vehicles can be called a model of the combination of EMU and subway technology.

The vehicle adopts an all-aluminum alloy body, with a total of 6 vehicles per train, 4 moving and 2 towing. The front of the train adopts the "standard" aluminum alloy skin + plate beam structure of the EMU, and is made through a new processing technology of superplastic forming. The project uses the 120-140km/h speed grade bogie, and uses rich EMU operation experience to simulate and optimize it, so that the vehicle has better dynamic performance and curve passing ability.

The vehicle adopts a fully sealed structure, and innovatively uses mid-top air supply and side-roof return air technology to meet the requirements of high-capacity ventilation while further reducing noise in the vehicle and improving passenger comfort. The cab and passenger compartment are equipped with an all-aluminum structure, which is more environmentally friendly than traditional materials. By installing horizontal and vertical mixed stainless steel seats in the passenger compartment, and using the LED hidden light source lighting solution for the first time, the train will provide passengers with a warm and caring environment.

Each system of the vehicle is connected by Ethernet, which greatly improves the speed of information transmission in the vehicle. At the same time, the train network control system realizes the intelligent monitoring of all components, improves the intelligence and information level of the vehicle, and makes the train full of sense of science and technology.

The Jinhua-Yiwu-Dongyang urban rail transit project connects the core cities of the central Zhejiang urban agglomeration. It is the first urban rail transit project in central Zhejiang and is also the urban rail transit network at the core of Jinhua's "comprehensive transportation corridor" urban development strategy. In December 2018 and August 2019, CRRC Changke won the bids for project 01 and 02 respectively, and will tailor 300 municipal rail transit vehicles for the project. Editor/Peng Xue
