On December 10, 2020, the consortium formed by China Energy Construction International Corporation Northwest Construction Investment and Bangladesh Jalalabad Electric Power Company signed the EPC contract for the Bangladesh Anwara 600 MW combined cycle project in the form of a network cloud contract.

The project is located in the Anwara area near Chittagong, Bangladesh. It uses a 600 MW H-class gas combined cycle generator set and is configured according to a 1:1:1 multi-shaft scheme. Its main work content includes the 600 MW combined cycle of the project EPC general contracting work for power station projects.

During the construction and operation of this project, it will create a large number of employment opportunities for the local area and cultivate a group of experienced skilled workers, which can effectively promote the local economic and social development and inject vitality into the Bangladeshi economy.

The project is the largest LNG gas turbine project in the Chittagong area of Bangladesh, with an annual power generation capacity of up to 5 billion kWh. After completion, it can significantly improve the current power shortage in the Chittagong area of Bangladesh and even the southeast of Bangladesh, and make a significant contribution to the accelerated development of the industrial economy in Bangladesh.
