On December 16, 2020, Gushi County, Henan Province held the groundbreaking ceremony for the connection project of the Gushi Sanhejian to Funan Caoji Huai River Bridge.

The route starts at S203 Provincial Road, Sanhejian Town, Gushi County, and crosses the Huaihe River to the northwest into Caoji Town, Funan County, Fuyang City, Anhui Province. After S320 Provincial Highway, the planned road in Anhui Province, it ends at Pier 33 of Caoji Bridge, Fucao Road, S305 Provincial Highway, Anhui Province, with a total length of 7.78 kilometers. Set up a Huaihe River Bridge with a length of 6997.5 meters to meet the navigation requirements of the Huaihe River's 1,000-ton channel. The Henan section of the project is 2.6365 kilometers long, and the Anhui section is 5.1435 kilometers long, with a total investment of approximately 1.1 billion yuan.

The Huaihe River Super Bridge and its connection project from Sanhejian, Gushi, Henan to Fuyang (Funan Caoji), Anhui, is an important hub connecting the eastern part of southern Henan Province to the northwest of Anhui, and it is also the Gushi County crossing the Huaihe River to the north of Fuyang, Funan, Yingshang and other places Important channel. The project is designed to connect Henan Provincial Highway S203 and Anhui Provincial Highway S305, and connect the main lines of the provinces such as Henan G328 National Highway and Anhui Provincial Highway S320 on the north and south sides of the Huaihe River, and further solve the problem of 100 kilometers from the Huaihe River to Nanzhaoji in the east and Huaibin County in the west. The historical problem of the absence of highway bridges can realize the effective connection of the only one thousand-ton waterway in Henan Province and the highway after completion, which will effectively promote the road-rail-water transport and help the rapid economic development of the border districts and counties of the two provinces.
