On December 25, 2020, the first phase of the Guangfo Bridge System Engineering project officially started, which means that the highly concerned connection project between Guangfo and Foshan has been successfully implemented.

It is understood that the Guangzhou-Foshan Bridge System Project is located in the central planning area at the junction of Guangzhou-Foshan and the integration of Guangzhou-Foshan. Luo Chongwei, the design speed is 60 km/h. The project will be divided into two phases. The first stage of the project is the Baisha River Bridge connecting Foshan Nanhai and Datansha Island, and the second stage of the project is connecting Datansha Island and Zengcha Road interchange.

Guangfo Bridge System Engineering Phase I

Specifically, the first phase of the Guangfo Bridge System Engineering (Baisha River Bridge) project starts from Jianshe Avenue in Nanhai District in the west, crosses the Baisha River eastward through the Baisha River Bridge, and ends at Datansha Island. The total length of the route is about 1.3 kilometers. The technical standards for urban arterial roads and secondary roads are adopted. Among them, the main line adopts two-way six-lane, with a design speed of 60 km/h; the auxiliary road adopts two-way four-lane, with a design speed of 40 km/h. The estimated construction period is 3 years.

There is 1 extra-river bridge (Baisha River Bridge), 1 interchange (Jianjian Avenue interchange), 2 ramps (Datansha Island Interchange C and D ramps) and the connecting section of Datansha Island along the river road (long about 1.2 km). The design creativity of the bridge tower symbolizes that the two cities of Guangfo have joined hands to compose a new chapter of Guangfo city.

The long-term implementation part will be connected to Datansha Island in the west, cross the Baini River to the east, connect the existing Zengcha Road interchange, and extend eastward to Xicha Road, the route is about 2.4 kilometers long. Including the main line of Baini River Bridge and the two ramps of Datansha Island Interchange E-F, and the interchange node of Zengcha Road.

After the completion of the first phase of the Guangzhou-Foshan Bridge, Foshan and Guangzhou Jinshazhou area can quickly reach Guangzhou Datansha Island, via the Pearl River East Bridge to quickly reach the center of Guangzhou. After the completion of the second phase, it can be connected to the Guangzhou Inner Ring Road to further ease the Jinshazhou area To solve the problem of travel difficulties, we will strengthen the efficient communication between Nanhai District of Foshan and the urban area of Guangzhou, and greatly improve the regional road network.
