On January 4, 2021, the main construction of the Chaoma Intercity Railway officially started. According to reports, in October 2019, the Chao-Ma Intercity Railway's advance project officially started; as of the end of 2020, the advance projects in Jiangxinzhou and Zhengpu Port have been fully completed, laying a solid foundation for the official construction of the main project.
The Chaoma Intercity Railway has a total investment of 25.3 billion yuan, with a total length of about 73 kilometers. Leading from Chaohu East Station of Shanghe-Hangzhou Railway, passing through Hanshan County South and Zhengpu Port New District, Ma'anshan City, crossing the Yangtze River to Ma'anshan South Station by means of a highway-rail bridge. It will be connected to Jurong Station on the Yangtze River Railway along the Yangtze River through Yangma Intercity Railway, reaching Shanghai and northern Jiangsu.

Chaoma Intercity Main Project
The main part of the project started this time is divided into three bidding sections. The annual investment is planned to be 3 billion yuan, including the Jiangnan section of the Chaoma Intercity Railway (including the Maanshan Yangtze River Bridge) and the related station front works of the connecting line. The total length of the line is 13.923 kilometers, and the connecting line from Ma'anshan South Station to Ning'an Intercity Railway Ma'an Shandong Station is 11.828 kilometers. The total investment of the main project is 12.8 billion yuan, accounting for nearly 80% of the total investment in the front of the Chaoma Intercity Railway.

Ma'anshan Road and Railway Yangtze River Bridge
The Maanshan Road-Rail Double-purpose Yangtze River Bridge adopts the Yangtze River Jiangxinzhou Bridge, 2.3 kilometers away from the downstream Maanshan Yangtze River Highway Bridge, and the total length of the river-crossing section is 9.663 kilometers. Plan, the right branch sub-channel bridge across the Taipingfu channel.
After the bridge is completed, it will integrate four major functions. The cross-river section adopts the multi-channel bridge scheme of Chaoma intercity railway + reserved rail transit line + urban expressway + pipe gallery. The bridge is divided into two layers, the upper layer is a two-way six-lane municipal road, and the lower layer is Chaoma Intercity railway line 2 plus reserved rail transit line 2. In addition, the bridge will also undertake some functions of pipe corridor crossing the river.

After the Chaoma Intercity Railway is completed and opened to traffic, it will greatly improve the Yangtze River Delta high-speed railway network and provide strong support for the higher-quality integrated development of the Wanjiang region and the Yangtze River Delta. Editor/He Yuting
