Urumqi Ring Expressway (West Line) Project

The Urumqi Ring Expressway (West Line) starts from the Wulaboxi hub and connects to the east line of the Urumqi Ring Expressway. After crossing Xishan and G216 to the west, along the west side of the Xishan Farm to the north, cross the Xishan and cross the Toutun River Route along the west bank of the river. After passing through Sangong Town, it will cross the Toutun River and continue northward along the east bank of the river. After crossing the Lanxin Railway and Wukui Expressway, it will be routed along the east bank of Toutun River to the south of Qinggeda Lake, and the Wuzhun Railway After the crossing, it stops at the Northeast Hub Interchange, connecting the Beijing-Xinjiang Expressway from Dahuangshan to Urumqi. The main line of the project is 92.027 kilometers long and is designed according to the standard of a two-way 8-lane expressway with a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour.

It is understood that the east line project of the Urumqi Ring Expressway was completed and opened to traffic in 2016. After the completion of the west line project, it will effectively enhance the radiation effect of the capital city of Urumqi, greatly alleviate the traffic pressure on the road network in the central city, and remove the central city of Urumqi from the original central area. Expand to the second and third ring areas, and promote the transformation of the capital's central urban area from the original one-hour economic circle to a half-hour economic circle.

In 2021, the total mileage of the entire Xinjiang expressway will exceed 6000 kilometers, and the number of counties with high-speed (first-class) highways will increase by 9 to 89, accounting for 83.2%. Newly rebuilt 5700 kilometers of rural roads.

Under the premise of normalizing epidemic prevention and control measures, in 2021, Xinjiang will also strive to build 25 projects such as the G7 Wutong Daquan-Mulei section highway, G315 Ruoqiang-Minfeng highway, etc.; accelerate the promotion of G0711 Urumqi to 31 projects including Yuli, S21 Altay to Urumqi; newly started G3003 Urumqi Ring Expressway (West Line) Project, G218 Line Nalati to Balentai, G217 Line Altai to Burqin, G331 Line Burqin to Haba River, 9 projects including the G580 line Aksu to Awati and the second phase of the Nanshan companion highway in western Changji; speed up the construction of rural roads and passenger and freight station projects. Among the various projects, the Nanjiang Project will be fully resumed at the end of February and the Beijiang Project will resume construction at the beginning of April.
