According to Farouk, the currency is made of (polymer) material, which is not ordinary plastic, but similar to plastic, just like coins circulating in certain European countries.

According to Farouk, plastic currencies are characterized by higher specifications, such as long service life, resistance to rot or deformation, resistance to forgery, and are made of environmentally friendly materials that are resistant to moisture, water and microorganisms.

Farouk explained that the use of 10 Egyptian pounds or 20 Egyptian pounds of plastic currency will not cancel the equivalent paper currency, but can be used in common circulation in the market.
