In an exclusive interview, Jordanian Ambassador to China Hussam Hosseini expressed his views on fighting the epidemic, bilateral cooperation and poverty reduction.

First, on China-Arab cooperation in fighting the epidemic

Hosseini said that Arab countries including Jordan have a profound friendship with China. The two sides have conducted exchanges and cooperation in many fields and the ties between the two peoples are very close

He said he was proud of Arab-China relations and friendship, and that when crises and difficulties come, people increasingly realize the importance and strength of such relations. In cooperation with Jordan and other Arab countries, China has taken a number of measures to jointly tackle the Covid-19 epidemic crisis. At the same time, he stressed that the Chinese government and people have generously provided a large number of medical supplies and materials, and shared their experience and knowledge in containing the epidemic and preventing and controlling the pandemic in a timely manner to help Arab countries cope with the Covid-19 epidemic crisis.

China has carried out vaccine cooperation with Arab states and other countries, which will help relevant countries carry out vaccination plans at an early date. China's participation in the COVID-19 Vaccine Implementation Plan is a demonstration of China's spirit of international solidarity and cooperation, without which the global COVID-19 epidemic would not have been defeated.

After witnessing China's response to the Covid-19 outbreak, he expressed his admiration for the Chinese government's swift and effective action to contain the epidemic and the broad sense of responsibility and responsibility shown by the Chinese people in the process. "The prompt and decisive response of the Chinese government and the joint efforts of the Chinese people are the key to successfully containing the spread of the epidemic."

Second, China and Jordan are expected to continue to strengthen cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, culture and tourism

Hosseini stressed that since the establishment of Jordania-China strategic partnership in 2015, bilateral cooperation in all areas has been advancing in an all-round way. China is Jordan's second largest trading partner and its high-quality products and services are favored by Jordanian consumers. He hoped that the two countries will continue to strengthen cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, investment, culture and tourism to better benefit the two peoples.

After successfully containing the epidemic, China's continued economic growth will help fuel the global recovery, he said. China's huge economy is an important driving force for world economic growth. China's development model is worthy of learning from many other countries.

Third, we look forward to sharing our experience in poverty reduction with China

He said that poverty eradication is one of the Millennium Development Goals of the United Nations, and China has been at the forefront in this regard and has completed the goal of comprehensive poverty eradication on schedule. Many countries, including Jordan, will benefit from China's valuable experience and look forward to exchanging relevant information, knowledge and experience with China.

Husseini said the 14th Five-Year Plan would bring China a new round of successful development. This plan will affect the whole world, and countries should look at how they can cooperate with China and benefit from it.
