Shenzhen City Rail Transit Line 12 has a total length of about 40.560km. It is the fourth phase of the rail transit network construction plan, which passes through Shenzhen Nanshan Central District, Baoan Central District, Fuyong Area, Big Airport and Exhibition Area from south to north. Rail transit backbone line; it is a backbone transportation line that supports the development of the development axis in the western part of Shenzhen and improves the quality of urban development in the Qianhai (Shekou) Free Trade Zone and the Airport New City area. It is essential to alleviate traffic congestion in the Nanshan Central District and Baoan Central District .

The second phase of the project has a total of 6 stations, including 1 transfer station. The average distance between stations is about 1.34km, the maximum distance between stations is 2.15km (from Haitianyuan East Station to Haoxiang Station), and the minimum distance between stations is 1.08km (from Xihuan Road Station to Shasan Station); an additional Dongbao River parking lot; other line prefabricated station projects include two prefabricated stations, including Huaxia Station on the second phase of line 6 branch line and the second phase of city traditional Chinese medicine station on line 13. The project duration is 1,704 calendar days.
After the completion of the second phase of Shenzhen Metro Line 12, it will become the backbone of rail transit in the exhibition area, Shajing, Songgang and Guangming districts, supporting the urban development of the Airport New Town area, Shajing and Songgang areas, alleviating traffic congestion in the area, and improving the tracks in the peripheral areas.
