2020 is destined to be a very extraordinary year. China has shown great resilience in the face of challenges and difficulties. On the morning of January 19, the National Development and Reform Commission held the first press conference in 2021 to introduce the overall situation of economic and social development in 2020 and the progress of stable investment, key reforms, new urbanization, and China-Europe Express, and answered questions from reporters. .

Zhao Chenxin, secretary-general of the National Development and Reform Commission, said at the meeting that in 2020, the China-Europe Express Train will break the “10,000 trains” mark for the first time, 7.3 times the number of trains in 2016.

Zhao Chenxin pointed out that, as the “Belt and Road” brand project, the China-Europe train has continued to maintain growth against the trend and operate safely, stably, and smoothly. It has played an important role in stabilizing the international supply chain and helping China and Europe to fight the epidemic together, and has achieved mutual benefit. Win-win "acceleration".

First, the number of opened lines has grown against the trend and has exceeded the "ten thousand rows" mark. In 2020, facing the severe impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the China-Europe Express trains will take advantage of the unique advantages of international rail transport and vigorously undertake the transfer of goods by sea and air. The annual operation of 12,406 trains, a year-on-year increase of 50%, is the first time to break the "10,000 trains" mark. 7.3 times the number of trips in 2016. In particular, in the second half of the year, the monthly traffic volume remained at around 1,200, and it has achieved double-digit year-on-year growth for 10 consecutive months, with more than a thousand rows in a single month in 8 months.

Second, the operating efficiency has been steadily improved, and the quality of the bank has improved significantly. In 2020, the heavy-duty transportation of China-Europe express trains, especially the return heavy-duty transportation, will be greatly improved. The comprehensive heavy container rate will reach 98.4%, an increase of 4.6 percentage points year-on-year, of which the return heavy container rate will increase significantly, an increase of 9.3 percentage points year-on-year. The value of goods transported by China-Europe Express trains reached US$50 billion throughout the year, 6.3 times that of 2016. In addition to traditional categories such as electronic products, food, wood, and chemical products, the demand for transportation of important intermediate goods in the international industrial chain has grown rapidly.

The third is to fully assist the resumption of work and production, and the "Life Channel" function is highlighted. In 2020, a total of 1.135 million TEUs of goods will be delivered by the China-Europe Express, of which 9.39 million anti-epidemic materials and 76,000 tons will be delivered to Italy, Germany, Spain, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, the Netherlands, Lithuania and other countries. It is allocated to more European countries. Xi'an, Yiwu, Wuhan and other places have innovatively launched the China-Europe Express "anti-epidemic material special train", which has been widely praised by countries and the international community for jointly building the "Belt and Road".

Fourth, the operation network continued to expand, and large-scale hubs were initially formed. In 2020, China-Europe Express will reach 92 cities in 21 countries, an increase of 37 over the same period of the previous year, an increase of 67%. There will be 8 new railway container return points outside of 16 countries, totaling 80. There are 73 special operation lines for China-Europe Express trains, an increase of 6 from the previous year. The annual operation of China-Europe trains in three cities including Xi'an, Chongqing, and Chengdu all exceeded 2,000, accounting for 58% of the total number of trains in the country. The operation of trains began to change from "point-to-point" to "hub-to-hub".

Fifth, the level of intelligence has been continuously improved, and service support capabilities have been further enhanced. In 2020, the “digital port system” will be put into operation, and the “three-in-two” centralized transportation mode will be innovated, and the port handover efficiency will be greatly improved. The level of public information services has been continuously improved. The China-Europe Express Service Center has pushed 510,000 pieces of track information and handled 185 cases of transportation organization obstacles throughout the year. Editor/Xu Shengpeng
