Vietnam has abundant wind resources, so it has become the most attractive wind power market in Southeast Asia. Recently, Energy China Zhejiang Thermal Power won the bid for the installation of wind turbines for the 300 MW wind power project in Vietnam Jialai.
Project engineering overview and significance
The project is an EPC general contracting project consortium formed by China Energy Construction Guangdong Research Institute, Shanxi Research Institute and Vietnam IPC Company, and the installation is undertaken by Zhejiang Thermal Power. Located in Gia Lai Province, Vietnam, the project is divided into two wind farms, Yang Trung 145 MW wind farm and Cho Long 155 MW wind farm, with a total capacity of 300 MW. It is currently the largest onshore wind power project in Vietnam. The project is scheduled to be put into operation in October 2021.
After the completion of the project, it is estimated that the annual power generation will reach 900 million kilowatt-hours, which can effectively use the sufficient local wind resources to generate electricity, alleviate the power shortage in Vietnam, promote local infrastructure construction, and promote regional economic development.
Wind energy and other renewable energy sources will become an important way to alleviate energy shortages. Up to now, Zhejiang Thermal Power has completed more than 80 wind power projects, and completed the installation of more than 1,500 wind turbines. The largest single wind turbine installation unit is 4 MW, and the installed capacity is about 2.4 million kilowatts. Editor/Sang Xiaomei
