China opens a multimodal transport channel from East Asia to Central Asia

On January 31, 2021, China's first East Asia-Central Asia multimodal transport channel was successfully opened in Liaogang Group. This multimodal transport channel not only enriches the logistics model of Liaoning Port’s participation in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, and builds a new land-sea transport channel, but also is a new attempt by Japan to participate in the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. Using this channel, the first batch of Japanese commercial vehicles arrived at Dalian Port by ro-ro sea on January 29, 2021. Through this new multimodal transport channel for commercial vehicles opened by the Liaogang Group, the transit time of Japanese commercial vehicles has been reduced to about 30 days, which can save more than half of the transportation time compared to the past, effectively reduce the overall logistics cost, and increase the Japanese products. The cross-border transportation of commercial vehicles is a new achievement of Liaogang Group's integration into the construction of the One Belt One Road, which not only expands the business model of the terminal, but also enriches the source structure of China-Europe Express.
