Tajikistan is beginning to formulate the "2021-2030" national geological work development plan, which aims to further develop the country's mining and processing industries.

The plan will be formulated on the basis of the current status of Tajikistan's mineral resource reserves and the degree of geological survey research.

According to the General Administration of Geology of Tajikistan, Tajikistan has discovered and evaluated more than 600 mines and more than 800 deposits, covering more than 60 minerals and non-mineral materials. But so far, only 27% of the discovered mineral resources in Tajikistan are in the state of mining and processing.

In addition, in recent years, foreign investors have shown great interest in Tajikistan's gold resources, which has further promoted the growth of Tajikistan's precious metal production and exports. According to statistics, in 2020, Tajikistan’s precious metal exports exceeded US$689.7 million, an increase of 3.1 times over 2019.

According to other sources, on February 3, 2021, the Tajikistan General Administration of Geology held a press conference to introduce the annual work of the bureau and the development of Tajik oil and gas and solid minerals. According to the meeting, Tajikistan's General Geology Bureau will implement and complete 22 state budget projects in 2020, with a funding of about 650,000 US dollars. At the same time, it also completed a market contract project of US$2.3 million.

Tajikistan's oil and gas resource investigation has made positive progress. Tajikistan has currently registered 28 oil and gas fields, with oil reserves of 2.2 million tons and natural gas reserves of 3.4 billion cubic meters.

At the same time, the bureau completed the estimation of gold reserves in 40 gold-bearing deposits in Tajikistan.

At present, the geological exploration of the relevant gold deposits is in progress, and the reserves will be registered in the national reserve balance sheet after the reserves are verified. At the same time, the bureau has also completed the compilation of relevant maps of private gold mining areas in five regions of Tajikistan.

It is reported that there are currently about 40 gold mines in Tajikistan under development, while 85 gold mines with good prospects are waiting to be developed. Editor/Sang Xiaomei
