Recently, Huizhou Port will build a 100,000-ton multi-purpose terminal in the Tsuenwan port area. Huizhou Port is located in the eastern part of the Pearl River Delta. It is a national first-class port in China. It is mainly composed of the three outer sea port areas of Tsuen Wan, East Malaysia and Huidong, and the Dongjiang Inland River Port area. It is understood that the cargo throughput of Huizhou Port exceeded 100 million tons in 2019.
Project Overview
Huizhou Port and Shenzhen Yantian Port formally form a combined port. In this way, the joint development of Huizhou Port and Shenzhen Port will be further strengthened, and efforts will be made to build a large port of 100 million tons. At present, the newly-built terminal of the first phase of the coal terminal in the Huizhou Port Tsuenwan Port Area is officially open to the public. Huizhou Port will also build a 100,000-ton multi-purpose terminal in the Tsuenwan port area.
The project passed the project feasibility report review in December 2020, and the relevant approval will be carried out at the end of January 2021. The project site is located on the southwest side of Huizhou Port’s Tsuenwan Port area and on the west side of the current International Container Terminal. It occupies 1,164 meters of coastline and has a total investment of approximately 4.6 billion yuan.
The project plans to build three 100,000-ton multi-purpose berths with a designed annual throughput of 20.2 million tons, which are mainly used for the transportation of general cargo, solid chemicals, steel, mineral construction materials, cement, containers and other goods. At the same time, a new storage yard and auxiliary construction area with a total area of about 310,000 square meters will be built, including grocery storage yard, cement warehouse area, container storage yard and import and export gates.
