On February 17, 2021, according to the Aksu Regional Transportation Bureau of Xinjiang, the G580 line Aksu-Awati will build a first-class highway, and construction is expected to start in spring.

G580 Line Aksu-Awati Highway Project

The starting point of the project is located in the northeast of the intersection of highways in the G314 Aksu transit section, and the ending point is connected to the highway project from Awati County to the 7th Regiment of the First Division of the Corps. The design standard of the first-class highway is adopted. The total length of the line is 52.088 kilometers. The estimated total investment of the project is 2.53 billion yuan. The planned construction period is two and a half years.

The project includes 1677.0m/29 medium and large bridges, 336.0m/16 small bridges; 98 culverts, 47 passages, 4 separated interchanges; 3 interchanges; 1 service area and 6 level crossings . The whole line adopts the two-way four-lane first-class highway standard, with a design speed of 100km/h, a roadbed width of 26.00m, and an asphalt concrete pavement.

The G580 line Aksu-Awati highway project is the backbone road network of "one ring, six shots and five connections" in the "14th Five-Year Plan" of regional comprehensive transportation. It is the section of the main line of the "first ring" connecting Aksu to Awati. It is also the main road passage for Aksu City to communicate with the outside world. After the completion of the Aksu-Awati highway project, it will greatly optimize the layout of the regional road network, further alleviate the existing road traffic pressure in Aksu City, and promote the integration of military and civilian development, and drive the economy and society of Aksu City, Awati County, and Alar City healthy growth.
