On the morning of March 1, 2021, at the construction site of Tiancheng tunnel in Wanzhou District, Chongqing, the first group of 500m long rails of Chongqing section of Zhengzhou Wanzhou high-speed railway (hereinafter referred to as Zhengzhou Wanzhou high-speed railway) fell steadily, marking that Chongqing section of Zhengzhou Wanzhou high-speed railway has entered the track laying stage in an all-round way.

Zhengzhou Wanzhou high speed railway is an important part of the riverside channel and Hunan channel in China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network. It starts from Zhengzhou City, Henan Province and ends at Wanzhou District, Chongqing city. The new line is about 818 km long with a design speed of 350 km / h. The Zhengzhou Xiangyang section has been put into operation on December 1, 2019. Chongqing section has entered the sprint stage of track laying and engineering construction. The total mileage of track laying (including station line) is about 380 km.

The proportion of tunnels in Chongqing section of Zhengzhou Wanzhou railway is as high as 91%, and most of the railway sections have communication signal blind areas. China Railway 11th Bureau Group has independently developed a comprehensive command and dispatching management system, which can realize communication positioning, turnout direction monitoring, station positioning, intelligent screening of adjustment command, etc. even in long tunnels, it can monitor the loading and unloading of long rails in real time, as well as the operation of locomotives and vehicles in Zhengzhou Wanzhou high speed railway The track of the station along the way is a "plus" for the safety of transportation and construction.

The Chongqing section of Zhengzhou Wanzhou railway also adopts the local two line long track laying machine. In the past, single track laying was used for rail laying. When one track is laid, the shunting operation will be carried out again after the track laying car returns to the station, and then the second track laying will be carried out. This is the first time that the blcp type local two line long track laying unit developed by China Railway 11th Bureau Group has been put into use in China, which can realize the simultaneous laying of two adjacent lines. The new automatic guiding device equipped by the unit can automatically guide the long rail By guiding, the long rail can enter into the adjacent lines to be paved, and the two lines can be laid at the same time. The operation efficiency is greatly improved, and the mutual worries and cross operations between the rail laying transportation and the offline construction units are reduced.

The total length of rails used for track laying in Chongqing section is about 380 km, which is transported to the construction site from Chengdu 700 km away. The builders set up a working group for long rail transportation, scientifically put forward key indicators such as line gradient, track structure, loading weight of bridge and tunnel live load, traction mode and operation speed, which are suitable for passenger dedicated line, overcame the problem of using ballasted passenger dedicated line for single 500 meter long rail freight transportation, and effectively guaranteed rail transportation. At the same time, Wanzhou North Rail Laying base will build Wanzhou North EMU station at the original site after the completion of rail laying, which not only reduces the land occupation, but also saves the project cost, which is conducive to the protection of ecological environment.

Zhengzhou Wanzhou high-speed railway is connected with Beijing Guangzhou high-speed railway and Xuzhou Lanzhou high-speed railway in the East, and Chengdu Chongqing high-speed railway, Chongqing Wanzhou passenger dedicated line and Chongqing Kunming high-speed railway under construction in the west, forming an express railway channel from Southwest China to Central Plains and North China.
