On the morning of March 1, 2021, the first group of 500-meter-long steel rails in the Chongqing section of the Zhengzhou-Wanzhou high-speed railway fell steadily. This marks the full track laying stage of the Chongqing section of the Zhengzhou-Wanzhou high-speed railway. It is planned to open at the end of 2021.

Zhengwan High Speed Rail

The project starts in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province and ends in Wanzhou District, Chongqing City. The total length of the new line is about 818 kilometers. The Chongqing section has three new stations, namely Yunyang, Fengjie and Wushan, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. Among them, the Zhengzhou-Xiangyang section has been opened for operation on December 1, 2019. The Chongqing section has entered the track laying and engineering construction sprint stage, and the total mileage of track laying (including station lines) is about 380 kilometers.

Overcoming difficulties

The Chongqing section uses steel rails with a total length of about 380 kilometers, which must be transported to the construction site from Chengdu, which is 700 kilometers away. The builders set up a long-rail transportation working group to overcome the problem of using a ballasted passenger dedicated line to transport goods on a single 500-meter-long rail, which effectively guarantees rail transportation. At the same time, the Wanzhou North Track-laying Base will build the Wanzhou North EMU at the original site after the track-laying is completed, which not only reduces land occupation, but also saves engineering costs, which is conducive to the protection of the ecological environment.

It is understood that the ratio of tunnels across the Chongqing section of the Zhengzhou-Wanzhou Railway is as high as 91%, and most of the railway sections have blind areas for communication signals. China Railway 11th Bureau Group has independently developed a comprehensive command and dispatch management system, which can realize communication positioning even in long tunnels. , Turnout direction monitoring, station positioning, intelligent screening of dispatching commands, etc.

The Chongqing section of the Zhengzhou-Wanzhou Railway also used the adjacent two-line long-track laying machine. In the past, single-track rail laying was used for rail laying. When one line was laid, the track-laying car returned to the station and re-scheduled the train before laying the second line. This is the first time that China has put into use the BLCP-type neighboring two developed by China Railway 11th Bureau Group. The line long rail laying unit can realize the simultaneous laying of two adjacent lines. The new automatic guiding device equipped with the unit can automatically guide the long rails so that the long rails enter the adjacent lines to be laid, realizing the simultaneous laying of the two lines, and the operation efficiency Significant improvement has reduced the mutual interference and cross-operations between track laying transportation and offline construction units.

According to the overall node construction period target of the Chengdu Bureau Group, it is required to open the Wanzhou North Station to Wushan Station at the end of 2021, and to complete the static acceptance of the section from Wushan Station to the provincial boundary. The Zhengwan high-speed rail line (Xiangyang-Wushan section) is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in July 2022. By then, it will only take 7 hours from Beijing to Chongqing at the fastest. Editor/He Yuting
