Changtai Yangtze River Bridge

The Changtai Yangtze River Bridge is a major domestic project and a core project in the high-speed railway planning in the Yangtze River Delta. The world record for a dual-purpose cable-stayed bridge; the two arch bridges connecting Tianxingzhou and Lu'anzhou on both sides will also become the world's largest road-rail dual-purpose steel truss arch bridge.

Project construction

The Changtai Yangtze River Bridge project puts forward high requirements on high-performance bridge steel. The technical requirements of the full bridge adopt the "standard + α" mode. The performance of the steel needs to meet the technical requirements of "Structural Steel for Bridges" GB/T 714-2015, and at the same time. Meet the technical requirements of the latest edition of "Structural Steel for Railway Bridges" TB/T 3556—2020. At the same time, the mechanical properties such as tensile strength, yield strength, longitudinal and longitudinal properties, and yield ratio have been individually tightened and adjusted. The bridge technology requirements are the highest in the country. Some steel plates in the project require a width of more than 4600 mm, which not only limits the size of the mill's rolling mills, but also increases the difficulty of the uniformity of steel plates produced by the steel mills. At the same time, the high-strength composite panels used in some of the railway bridge decks of this project are the first in China.

In response to the high technical requirements of the bridge steel required for the project, tight start time, and demanding delivery deadlines, the Manufacturing Department and Heavy Plate Department jointly held project guarantee meetings in Shanghai and Zhanjiang to formulate production processes and invert production according to project requirements. The time node provides a strong guarantee for the supply of the project. In the end, Baosteel Co., Ltd. won the bid for the project in one fell swoop with China Railway Baoqiao with its comprehensive advantages.
