Recently, the Kangding-Xinduqiao section expressway project of the G4218 line was officially approved by the Sichuan Provincial Development and Reform Commission.

Kangding-Xinduqiao Section Expressway of G4218 Line

The project route starts from Yulin New District, Kangding City, and is connected to the Kangding Transit Section Expressway of G4218 Line under construction. It passes through Zheduotang and Ertaizi, crosses the mountain with Zheduoshan tunnels, passes through Tangdi Dam, Waze, and ends at Xindu Dongyuluo Village, Qiaozhen, connects the planned G4218 line Xinduqiao to Litang section, and sets up Xinduqiao ramp toll station to connect to the existing national highway 318.

The total length of the project route is about 79.2 kilometers. The whole line adopts two-way four-lane expressway standard construction, with a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour, and a total investment of about 16.457 billion yuan.

It is reported that the Kangding-Xinduqiao section expressway of the G4218 line is a component of the Sichuan-Tibet Southern Line into Tibet, and it is also the G4218 connecting line "Ya'an-Yecheng" expressway in the "National Highway Network Planning (2013-2030)" It is also a part of the Chengdu-Kangding-Tibet Expressway in the "Sichuan Expressway Network Planning (2014-2030)". After the completion and opening to traffic, the traffic safety of the Sichuan-Tibet Pass will be further improved, emergency support capabilities will be enhanced, national security will be ensured, and border defense will be consolidated.
