Guangzhou Baiyun five-line project plans to start construction in March

On March 3, 2021, the Baiyun Fifth Line (G106 National Road-Dayuan North Road) project will be publicized on the website of the Guangzhou Ecological Environment Bureau before the environmental review and approval. The project is scheduled to start in March 2021 and be completed and opened to traffic in February 2023.

Baiyun Fifth Line (G106 National Road-Dayuan North Road)

The Baiyun Fifth Line (G106 National Road-Dayuan North Road) project belongs to a section of the planned Baiyun Fifth Line. The starting point of the route is connected with the section of the Baiyun Fifth Line (Airport Expressway-G106 National Road), and the end point is connected to Dayuan North Road. It shares the route corridor zone with Guangzhou New Baiyun International Airport No. 2 Highway and intersects with G106 National Highway, Zhongyong Road, Xinguangcong Expressway, and Chentai Road from west to east. Set up interchanges at the Baiyun Fifth Line-G106 National Highway node, and set up crossover bridges on Zhongyong Road and Xinguangcong Expressway, and set up a short-term south-to-west left-turn ramp and a long-term west-to-north ramp at the node of Dayuan North Road.

The project is a new trunk road with a standard road width of 60 meters, a route length of about 5.886 kilometers, two-way 8 lanes, a main line bridge length of about 2 kilometers, a total of 4 interchange nodes and 5 pedestrian bridges, with a total investment of 4.43 billion yuan.

In the section from National Highway G106 to Dayuan North Road, the second high of the airport is close to the original planned route of Baiyun Fifth Line. In order to improve the efficiency of regional land resource utilization, the land planning department adjusted the planned line position of Baiyun Fifth Line to make it the same as the second high of the airport. Shared route corridors, and strive for simultaneous construction of the two projects. In this way, the Baiyun Fifth Line project can be quickly promoted, and at the same time, the second high airport can be connected through the Baiyun Fifth Line, which greatly improves the regional traffic conditions and promotes the accelerated social and economic development. Therefore, Guangzhou plans to build the Baiyun Fifth Line (G106 National Road-Dayuan North Road) project.

In the future, the construction of Baiyun Fifth Line will further improve the road network structure, increase horizontal distribution roads, connect multiple national highways and radiation lines, reduce bypass traffic and dependence on vertical arterial roads, avoid high traffic concentration, and provide accessibility.
