Recently, Sinopec’s Sinopec Refining and Chemical Engineering Group and the Russian Amur Natural Gas Chemical Plant signed a general contract for the construction of the Russian Amur ethylene plant through a cloud video conference. The contract value is approximately US$942 million.
Sino-Russian production capacity cooperation
The project is located in Prague Vischensk, the capital of the Russian Far East Amur Region. It will use the mixed light hydrocarbons produced by the upstream Amur natural gas processing plant to produce ethylene, propylene and other products by steam cracking, and further process and produce linear low-density polyethylene and high-density polyethylene. High value-added products such as ethylene and polypropylene.
According to the contract, the Refining & Chemical Engineering Group and its subsidiaries will provide engineering services for the ethylene plant of the Amur Natural Gas Chemical Plant in Russia. The Russian Amur Natural Gas Chemical Plant project is the first time the Refining & Chemical Engineering Group has undertaken a general contracting project in Russia, and it is also the largest overseas contracted monomer construction project of the Refining & Chemical Engineering Group.
The project is expected to have a total investment of more than 10 billion U.S. dollars. After the project is completed, it will become the world's largest polymer plant using light hydrocarbons as raw materials. Editor/Tian Zengpeng
