On March 31, the "First Public Announcement of the Environmental Impact Assessment of the New Chongqing-Wanzhou High-speed Railway" began to be publicized on the website of Chongqing Transportation Bureau. Construction is expected to officially start within this year.
Yuwan High Speed Rail
The whole line of the project is located in the territory of Chongqing City, with the main line length of about 251.4km. The supporting construction will introduce the Chongqing Hub, Fuling area, Wanzhou area and other related projects. The whole line has stations such as Chongqing East Station, Fuling North Station, Fengdu North Station, Zhongxian Station, Wanzhou North Station, and Zhujiayan, Qingyun Mountain, Ganguo Village, and Eagle Rock. The railway grade is high-speed railway, double-track, with a design speed of 350km/h and electric traction.

The Chongqing-Wangzhou high-speed railway is an important part of the national “eight vertical and eight horizontal” high-speed railways along the Yangtze River, Baohai and Beijing-Kunming channels. A high-speed rail channel of 350 km/h is formed between Kunming; 50 minutes from central Chongqing to Wanzhou, 3 hours and 40 minutes from Chongqing to Zhengzhou, 2 hours and 10 minutes from Chongqing to Xi'an, and 6 hours from Chongqing to Beijing and Shanghai. Compared with the existing railways, after the completion of the Yuwan High-speed Railway, the operation time of the above three passages in Chongqing can be saved by about one hour. Editor/He Yuting
