Recently, the second phase of the Bangladesh Mongla Port dredging project undertaken by China Civil Engineering Group Co., Ltd. officially started. This project is an extension of China Civil Engineering's completion of the first phase of the Mongla Port dredging project ahead of schedule, and it is also the largest dredging project in Mongla Port so far.

The Minister of State for Shipping of Bangladesh, Khalid, emphasized the importance of the channel dredging project for the economic development of Mongla Port and even the Khulna District. He spoke highly of the Chinese civil engineering contractor from China who has overcome difficulties under the influence of the epidemic and completed the first phase ahead of schedule. For the project, it is hoped that China Civil Engineering will continue to ensure the quality and quantity and deliver the second phase of the project as soon as possible.

Ke Changliang, general manager of China Civil Engineering Bangladesh, said that he is willing to return the trust of the owners with practical actions, continue to contribute to the development of the local society, and join hands in creating a better future.

It is reported that the total length of the dredging channel of the Mongla Port Dredging Phase II project is nearly 24 kilometers, and the total dredging volume is expected to exceed 20 million cubic meters. After the implementation of the project, the main channel of Mongla Port will be able to accommodate more large merchant ships entering and leaving the port, which is of great significance for enhancing the port's throughput capacity and promoting the economic prosperity and development of the southwestern Bangladesh.
