The Baihetan Hydropower Station has officially started to store water recently, and the first batch of units will be put into operation in July 2021. Baihetan Hydropower Station is located on the main stream of the Jinsha River at the junction of Qiaojia County in Yunnan Province and Ningnan County in Sichuan Province. It is the second stage of the four cascade power stations invested and constructed by the Three Gorges Group in the lower reaches of the Jinsha River, with a total installed capacity of 16 million kilowatts.

At present, 22 dam sections of the 31 dam sections of Baihetan Hydropower Station have been poured to the top. It is expected to be poured to the top in mid-to-late May. The main civil works such as underground powerhouses and spillway tunnels have all been completed to meet the requirements for water storage and power generation; The first batch of million-kilowatt units put into production will be commissioned with water in May.
