Recently, China Overseas Engineering Co., Ltd., China Railway Shanghai Engineering Bureau Group Co., Ltd., Wanguo International Mining Group Co., Ltd. and GOLD RIDGE MINING LIMITED formally signed the Solomon Islands GOLD RIDGE MINE construction general contract in Jiangxi.

The project covered by the contract mainly includes two phases. The first phase is the open-pit mining and stripping project, and the second phase is the underground deep development, underground mining, road and bridge construction and maintenance, and the construction of a new tailing pond. GOLD RIDGE MINE is located 30 kilometers southeast of Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands. After the project is completed and put into production, it will have an annual mining and processing scale of 2.5 million tons of ore. The project will play a major role in promoting the economic development and livelihood improvement of the Solomon Islands.

Along the Belt and Road Initiative, Chinese companies actively fulfill their mission of going global. This project is a major cooperation project since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Solomon Islands.
