On April 11, Malaysia time, the hybrid meter gauge EMU developed by CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. for Malaysia was officially put into operation in Kelantan.

The train is composed of four cars and runs at a speed of 120 km / h, which is specially built for the non electrified lines on the east coast of Malaysia.

At the launch ceremony, Datuk Seri Wei Jiaxiang, Minister of Malaysia's Ministry of transport, said that the performance and in car facilities of EMUs are much better than those of existing trains. As a new type of rail transit equipment, the EMUs can be applied to a variety of power systems or non electrified lines. The operation of EMUs will also create more jobs, drive and improve the development of surrounding industrial chain, and serve Malaysia Sub rail transportation system injects new vitality.

According to the project R & D personnel of CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd., the EMU embodies the design concept of "green + intelligent".

1、 Adopt advanced technology

The EMU uses the hybrid power system of "internal combustion power pack + super capacitor energy storage power supply".

During train traction, super capacitor can provide high power current for train starting and accelerating in a short time; during train braking, super capacitor can absorb and store more than 85% of braking energy.

The train uses super capacitor energy storage power as one of the power sources, which can save more than 20% of fuel consumption compared with the traditional DMUs.

2、 Application of intelligent maintenance

The application of intelligent operation and maintenance technology in the train can collect and transmit the operation status, fault and other information in real time, automatically diagnose the operation status of the vehicle, and guide the corresponding maintenance work, so as to improve the intelligent level of the vehicle.

3、 Highlight the humanistic concept

Fully considering the Islamic religious culture of Malaysia, the train is equipped with prayer room and parcel room; the seats in the passenger compartment can be adjusted flexibly, and the lower height and wider width of the pedal ladder can meet the needs of various platforms.

It is understood that relying on its strong technical strength and advanced service concept, CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. has established the largest and most fully equipped manufacturing base in Southeast Asia in Malaysia, and successfully built China's first overseas "4S" shop for Intercity multiple units.

In 2012, the SCS intercity EMU independently developed by the company was put into operation in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.

In 2016, ETS meter gauge EMUs produced locally in Malaysia were put into operation, mainly between Kuala Lumpur and Badong Wucha on the border of Malaysia and Thailand, with an average daily passenger volume of over 10000.

In 2019, Ets2 meter gauge EMUs produced locally in Malaysia will be released, becoming the first EMU with business cabin in Malaysia.
