Chen Fei, deputy governor of the Hunan Provincial Government, announced that the construction of high-grade waterways from Shimen to Lixian in Lishui, Yongzhou to Hengyang on the Xiangjiang River, and Changde to Liuyukou from Yuanshui to start construction projects. The three water transport projects started this time have added 112 kilometers of 1,000-ton waterways and 213 kilometers of 2,000-ton waterways, with a total mileage of 325 kilometers and a total investment of 6.47 billion yuan.

The 1,000-ton waterway construction project from Shimen of Lishui to Lixian County will construct the Qingshan and Yanzhou Junction ship locks according to the 2000-ton standard, and renovate the 51-kilometer channel from Shimen Lishui to Lixian according to the 1,000-ton standard. The whole line is equipped with a first-class navigation mark. The total investment of the project is 3.653 billion yuan and the construction period is 48 months.

The second phase of the construction of the 1,000-ton channel from Yongzhou to Hengyang on the Xiangjiang River will expand the second-line ship lock of the Jinweizhou hub in accordance with the 1,000-ton standard, and renovate the 61-kilometer channel from the Xiangjiang River Junxi Hub to the Xiangqi hub in accordance with the 1,000-ton standard. The total investment of the project is 1.176 billion yuan, and the construction period is 36 months.

The construction of the 2000-ton channel from Changde to Niukou in Yuanshui River will renovate the 213-kilometer channel from Changde to Niukou in Yuanshui in accordance with the 2000-ton standard. The entire channel will be equipped with first-class navigation beacons. The total investment of the project is 1.644 billion yuan and the construction period is 46 months.

It is understood that these three water transport projects involve three tributaries of the Yangtze River, Xiangjiang River, Yuanshui River, and Lishui River. The province can radiate northwestern Hunan and southern Hunan, and connect the Yangtze and Pearl River systems outside the province. After completion, Hunan Province will implement the development strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. , It is of great significance to improve the layout of the national high-level waterway network and enhance the navigation capability of "One Lake and Four Waters".

In 2020, Hunan Province will complete an investment of 1.997 billion yuan in water transport construction, which is 120% of the annual planned investment; the refurbishment of port terminals in the Hunan section of the Yangtze River will be completed, 42 berths and 15 ferry ports will be closed, 7.3 kilometers of shoreline will be withdrawn, and 423,000 square meters will be restored. Meters; Dongting Lake and Xiangzi Yuanli Four Rivers banned 391 illegal docks, cancelled 250 ferry ports, and exited the coastline for 101.77 kilometers; actively implemented the prevention and control of ship and port pollution, and completed the construction of 70 ship pollutant collection points across the province. 34 sets of shore power equipment supporting facilities in 31 port berths and installation of facilities for 26 ships in operation.
