The Datang Nanjing Power Plant, built in 1910, was China's first government-run power plant. This is a power plant known as "Forever Young". Bright youth, a hundred flowers bloom. This is a power plant growing together with the Communist Party of China, under the leadership of the banner of the Party, unremitting self-improvement, loyalty to the Party and the country.

In 1937, the Japanese army occupied Nanjing. The workers of the power plant persevered in generating electricity in the face of the danger and the Japanese army's butcher's knife. 45 workers were killed in the massacre. "Monument to the Dead Workers" tells their unyielding will and solid backbone, and the deeds of heroes inspire generation after generation of Nan Dian people to be strong and unyielding and forge ahead.

In late April 1949, during the battle of crossing the Yangtze River, the crew of the power plant drove the coal carrier "Jingdian" to take the Liberation Army across the Yangtze River. On April 25, it picked up the leaders of Chen Yi, Deng Xiaoping and other former CPC members to cross the Yangtze River, and the ancient city of Nanjing was declared liberated. "Jingdian" was called "the first ship to cross the Yangtze River". (For reprint, please indicate Jiandao website www.seetao.com) Jiandao website video column editor/Linping Gan
