Henry Boot has won planning permission for a £114 million industrial and logistics project in the West Midlands. The group's real estate development business, Henry Boot Developments (HBD), represents partners Walsall Council, Homes England and West Midlands Combined Authority in the delivery of the Phoenix 10 industrial and logistics plan.
The plan covers an area of 44 acres, close to M6, will provide up to 620,000 square feet of employment space, and is expected to create up to 1,000 jobs. Henry Boot called this the largest undeveloped land in the Black Country. The developer will appoint contractors for the plan in due course.
The National Local Enterprise Partnership Program provided grants for the completion of the restoration work.
Ed Hutchinson, managing director of Henry Boot Developments (HBD), the group’s real estate development business, said: “We will use our extensive expertise and track record in providing large-scale employment locations to develop a plan. To attract foreign investment and support the booming regional economy."
The Phoenix 10 industrial and logistics plan was obtained after Henry Boot obtained permission for a 2 million square foot distribution warehouse in Wakefield Hub, Yorkshire. The project is located on 200 acres of land, close to junction 30 of M62, and will restore the previous coal mine. The plan was proposed by Newmarket Lane, a joint venture between HBD and developer Yorkcourt.Editor/Huang Lijun
