On May 5, 2021, the inauguration ceremony of the trackless station in the East Industrial Park of the Ya-Djibouti Railway with the theme of "Blooming in Yajime and the East" was held in the East Industrial Park of Ethiopia. After the opening of the trackless station, the Yaji Railway will be closely connected to the industrial park through the trackless station, further improving transportation efficiency and serving local economic development. At the same time, it will innovate the combined transportation mode of local railways and industrial parks, and open up the "last mile" of short-distance transportation services.

Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia Zhao Zhiyuan, Minister Counsellor Liu Yu of the Economic and Commercial Office, Minister of State of the Ministry of Transport of Ethiopia Yewara Shet, General Manager of Industrial Park Development Company Sandokan, General Manager of Ethiopia-Djibouti Standard Gauge Railway Joint Stock Company Lahun, the head of China Civil Engineering and Ethiopian Company and other guests attended the event and delivered speeches.

In his speech, the Egyptian guest representative said that Ethiopia is actively learning the development model of the linkage between China’s railways and industrial parks. All industrial parks have incorporated connected electrified railways into their future development plans. The birth of trackless stations is a short-term rail transport service. A milestone event, its use will definitely reduce transportation costs, promote import and export trade, and realize the diversification and sustainable development of railways.

Liu Yu, speaking on behalf of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, said that the in-depth cooperation between the Asia-Djibouti Railway and the Eastern Industrial Park is like "a beautiful marriage". The former carries the concerns and expectations of the Chinese and Egyptian governments, and the latter is building Ethiopia. The "manufacturing center" strategy plays a central role, and the two complement each other and are mutually beneficial. The trackless station is also like a "car accelerator", which not only improves the passenger and freight business, but also solves the "last mile" problem. In the future, more trackless stations will be settled in industrial parks along the railway.
