Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission agreed to implement the reconstruction and expansion project of Harbin Taiping International Airport with the "Approval of the National Development and Reform Commission on the Feasibility Study Report on the Phase II Expansion Project of Harbin Taiping Airport". The approval of the feasibility study report of the Harbin Airport Phase II Expansion Project marked the smooth end of the preliminary work of the project, and it will soon enter the engineering design phase.

The second-phase expansion project of Harbin Airport is designed to meet the annual passenger throughput of 38 million passengers and cargo and mail throughput of 300,000 tons. The main construction content includes airport engineering, air traffic control engineering, fuel supply engineering, automobile gas station engineering, etc. The total investment of the project is about 9.658 billion yuan, of which the airport project is 9.192 billion yuan. The specific construction project is to build a 3,600-meter-long, 45-meter-wide East Second Runway and the corresponding taxiway system at 760 meters east of the existing runway. The district level index is 4E; a new station with 90 seats and a freight station of 20,000 square meters will be built, and facilities such as navigation lights, fire fighting and rescue, power supply, and water supply will be built.
