It is understood that the TBM has an installed power of 3,800 kilowatts, a total length of 372 meters, and a total weight of 1,000 tons. It is a veritable "steel pangolin". The equipment is named "Jasmine" and the Filipino language is expressed as "Sampaguita". Jasmine is the national flower of the Philippines, symbolizing purity, passion, friendship, and love.

The Kaliwa dam is an important part of the Philippines’ new century water source plan. The project is contracted by China Energy Construction Co., Ltd. The diversion tunnel of the project has complex geology such as broken zones and large water gushing. The equipment needs to be excavated 17.55 kilometers, which is expected to be created. The longest excavation mileage of overseas tunnel projects participated by our country.

In response to engineering and geological difficulties, the development team adopted a series of targeted designs, including cutterhead expansion, jack-up main drive, ultra-high pressure relief propulsion system, advanced drilling and advanced geological prediction system, etc. The equipment has strong geological adaptability.

The Kaliwa Dam is an important infrastructure construction project between China and the Philippines under the framework of the “Belt and Road”. The reservoir has a design capacity of 57 million cubic meters. After completion, it can supply 600 million liters of domestic water to Metro Manila.
