The temperature control and crack prevention of mass concrete has always been a difficult problem in the engineering field. Baihetan Hydropower Station has designed and installed 16 hydro-generator units with a single unit capacity of 1 million kilowatts. It is the world's largest hydroelectric unit with a unit capacity of one million kilowatts. It is also a fully localized million kilowatt unit independently designed and manufactured by China.

It is reported that the innovation of millions of units mainly consists of two parts. One is that the generator has been increased from the original 800,000 kilowatts to 1 million kilowatts.
