Recently, China Harbor successfully signed a contract for the addition of a 323-meter dry bulk berth to the Lekki Deepwater Port in Nigeria. The successful signing of this project has further enhanced China Harbour’s brand influence in Nigeria and consolidated China Harbour’s dominant position in Nigeria and even the China-Africa hydraulic market.

The project is close to the No. 2 berth of the first phase of the Lekki Deepwater Port Container Terminal. The main work content includes the construction of a new 323-meter wharf, a 1.1-hectare storage yard, revetment and hydropower projects, and the dredging of about 2 million square meters of the harbor basin. The project has a construction period of 31 months and the owner is Tolaram Port Investment Company.
For a long time, the terminal facilities of the Lekki Deepwater Port in Nigeria have been seriously inadequate, and can only berth small freighters carrying 4000 TEUs at most; the limited conditions of the rear collection and distribution system have led to low loading and unloading efficiency, long time for import and export of goods, and costs. Increase. However, because the port areas of Lagos are located in the urban area, there is no space for land expansion, which not only aggravates traffic congestion in the city and port areas, reduces the quality of life of the people, but also severely restricts Nigeria's overall import and export trade and economic development.

Lin Yichong, chairman of China Harbour, said that China Harbour has strong financial strength, professional technical knowledge and 30 years of rich global experience, ensuring that the cargo berth will be delivered to use within the construction period. In the future, under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, China Harbour will continue to deepen cooperation with governments at all levels in Nigeria, establish long-term strategic partnerships in the field of infrastructure, and jointly develop the potential for cooperation in infrastructure such as port passages and make greater contributions to Nigeria.
