Pangkalan Susu 2×200MW Coal-fired Power Station
The Pangkalan Susu 2×200MW coal-fired power station undertaken by the Eighth Hydropower Bureau is located in Pangkalansusu District, Langkat County, North Sumatra Province, Indonesia. It is the third coal-fired power station undertaken by the Eighth Hydropower Bureau after Aceh and Tonga EPC general contracting project of coal power station. The Pangkalan Susu coal-fired power plant project is a new 2x200 MW 3&4 unit based on the original power plant. The project broke ground on May 4, 2015, and successfully completed the performance test on September 5, 2019 and put it into commercial operation. It became the first overseas thermal power project operated by the Engineering Bureau. After the operation and maintenance of the unit warranty period, the last unit inspection overhaul work in the contract was completed in December 2020, and the project performance has been successfully completed so far. The completion and commissioning of the project has effectively alleviated the power shortage in North Sumatra, Indonesia, promoted local economic development and achieved gratifying economic benefits.

In the whole process of project construction and the quality guarantee period, the Pangkalan Susu Project Department gave full play to the advantages of general contracting management, continuously innovated and optimized plans, implemented refined project management, and actively promoted Chinese standards and Chinese manufacturing to "go global." Through the hard work of all parties involved in the construction, the project department has obtained the full trust and recognition of the Indonesian National Power Corporation. During the construction of the project, it has set a number of important node records and won the "Best Performance Award" from the Indonesian National Power Corporation. "Operation and Maintenance Performance Award" and many other awards, have been praised by the owners many times. At the same time, the rapid acquisition of the final handover certificate (FAC) of this project shows that the owner has a high degree of recognition of the EPC contractor.
