This marks the opening of 5G+ smart applications in China's petrochemical industry. Changqing Petrochemical is a national intelligent manufacturing pilot demonstration and intelligent manufacturing benchmarking enterprise. Its efficiency-creating ability is ahead of China's petroleum refining and chemical enterprises, and its comprehensive strength ranks among the top ten industrial enterprises in Shaanxi Province. The company has typical complex application scenarios in the refining and chemical field, and a large amount of production process data needs to be interacted with the platform in real time.

In order to implement the country’s strategic deployment of the development of the industrial Internet, the promotion of intelligent manufacturing and digital transformation, and to solve the problems of traditional refinery safety and environmental protection control, production efficiency improvement and process operation optimization, in 2020, Changqing Petrochemical and China Information and Communication Research Institute, China Telecommunications Shaanxi Branch, Huawei Technologies and other companies cooperated to launch 5G and industrial Internet integration and innovation development projects.

Through the deployment of 5G industrial private network and mobile edge computing (MEC) platforms, a high-speed, large-bandwidth, low-latency, and highly reliable 5G cloud network infrastructure can be constructed to meet the needs of Changqing Petrochemical in terms of network delay and data security. Application requirements have created China's first 5G smart refinery. It is reported that the 5G+ mobile equipment intelligent early warning system deployed on the MEC platform can automatically track the operating status of hundreds of mobile equipment in the factory area, perform 24-hour uninterrupted real-time calculation and accurate perception, and replace the traditional regular maintenance mode with predictive maintenance , The fault early warning accuracy rate is over 95%, the inspection and maintenance cost is reduced by about 10%, and the number of unplanned shutdowns of the device is reduced to zero, which effectively reduces the failure rate and maintenance cost of the equipment, and ensures the safe and stable operation of the refining production.
