At 16:00 on June 17, 2021, local time, Tanzanian Prime Minister Qasim Majaliwa inspected the New Seland Sea Bridge built by China Railway Bridge Bureau. At the construction site, after listening to the overall work and construction report of the project, Qassim spoke highly of the project: "I inspected the production situation of the whole bridge, and all constructions are proceeding in an orderly manner. The current progress has reached 83.5%. I believe it is in progress. The enterprise contractor will finish the project on time."

Patrick Mfogale, Executive President of the Tanzania Highways Agency, who accompanied the Prime Minister on the visit, stated that “92% of the bridge builders are Tanzanians, and only 8% are foreign experts.” In response, Qassim hired a large number of experts for the project department. Local engineers and workers expressed their appreciation and encouraged all Tanzanians involved in the construction to make full use of their job opportunities to learn professional skills from foreign companies and cultivate more outstanding engineers for Tanzania.

The New Seland Sea-Crossing Bridge is the third large-scale infrastructure project undertaken by China Railway Bridge Bureau in Tanzania after the Nyerere Bridge and Mtwara Port Project. It is reported that after the opening of the bridge, it will accommodate more vehicles entering and leaving the city center, greatly alleviating traffic congestion. The construction of the bridge will significantly increase government revenue and promote commercial interaction among port city residents.
