The north-south highway connection project of Wufengshan Yangtze River Bridge is located on the central axis of Jiangsu traffic, with a total length of about 33 kilometers. It starts from the Zhengyi hub where the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway and the Shanghai-Shaanxi Expressway cross, and crosses the Yangtze River through the Wufengshan Yangtze River Bridge to the south, and ends at Tai The Dagang Hub, where Zhen Expressway crosses Jiangyi Expressway, is the most convenient north-south river crossing channel between the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Yangtze River Delta. It is also the first new full-line eight-lane highway in Jiangsu.

The Wufengshan Yangtze River Bridge's north-south highway connection project has complex geology, difficult construction, high quality and safety risks, high pressure on management and coordination, and engineering construction is extremely challenging. Most of the road sections of the whole line are located in the polder area along the Yangtze River, and 90% of the roadbed sections have bad geological conditions such as soft soil; the whole line crosses many rivers, and the proportion of bridges is as high as 50%. Among them, the Mangdao River Bridge is the main channel for flooding the Huai River into the river. The five water piers all adopt low-pile caps that are conducive to flood discharge, and the construction of deep water foundations is difficult; the north-south approach bridges connected to the highway-rail bridge are mostly high piers of 35 meters or more, the highest pier is 66 meters, and the superstructure is provincial The ultra-wide segment box girder used for the first time in the factory has a width of 20 meters, which requires high production and installation precision, and is difficult to store and hoist.

The completion of the project is conducive to further improving the comprehensive transportation system in the Yangtze River Delta, promoting the development of cross-river integration, promoting the construction of the Yangtze River urban agglomeration and the integration of Nanjing, Zhenjiang and Yangzi, and helping our province build a high-quality comprehensive transportation network and build a strong transportation country in Jiangsu.
